Hey Y’all,

Were sitting in a parking lot in Bluefield, WV right now, doing our best to avoid heat stroke. That’s pretty much been the mission since this tour started, but we can’t complain too much, we were the geniuses who booked a 30 day tour during the hottest two months of the year.

But aside from the heat, tour has been great. We played some killer shows and met some great people. Our last show was in NYC at The Yippie Museum on Bleecker St. If you haven’t been there, make a point to stop. It is a trip. A yippie was “a more radically youth-oriented and countercultural offshoot of the free speech and anti-war movements of the 1960s,” yet today, the museum’s radical agenda seems to be legalizing marijuana. :P It is a hole in the wall, so when we first showed up, I wasn’t really sure how we were going to perform, but it worked out surprisingly well.

Before the show we had met up with two representatives from the Airwalk music department. It turns out Airwalk has selected us as one of their top ten unsigned bands. Yea! They flew in from PA to interview us in our stifling van and record our live show. They were some pretty chill dudes, with a sick taste in music. Airwalk is going to be selecting one of the top ten bands for the AP tour this fall. We may need your help, but we’ll give you all some more details about it as we get them.

The day before we played The Yippie we were in Newton, NJ at The Farmhouse. It was quite possibly one of the most memorable shows we have ever played. The Farmhouse was a house venue, in the middle of the woods in Northern NJ, set up by the four guys that live there. Unfortunately the show we played was the last. The owner of the property put an end to it. It went out with a bang though. We met some awesome dudes from The Reptilian, The Flop & Victor! Fix The Sun. Definitely check them out if you haven’t heard of them. We also met one of the best dogs ever, Mellow. (See pics below for a pic of Mellow)

All in all, it’s been a great tour so far. We appreciate all of the support and kind words you’ve been sending us. We’ll be playing at the Rock-It Club in Bluefield, WV tonight and heading to Raleigh, NC afterward.

Love you all,

Tyler, Pete, Britt & Branden

2010 Hieroglyphics Tour

So, the first show of our first tour was last night.  We played at The Westgate in Middletown, NY.  It is Brittany’s hometown so we had a great turnout.  Tonight will be the first night that we all don’t return to our houses after a show, we couldn’t be more excited!!  This day has been in the works for months, and a lot of preparation has gone into it.  30 days on the road is sure to be an interesting experience, we have no idea what to expect but that’s most of the fun.  We’re going to miss all of our friends and loved ones, but the support they have all shown us has been extraordinary.  So now it’s back to packing and a few last minute goodbyes.  Check out our ‘Tour’ page on here to see if we’re coming near you!!  See you all soon!

-Pete

What I’m listening to:

*Angus and Julia Stone- Big Jet Plane

*Easy Star All Stars- Dub Side Of The Moon

When The Ceiling Meets The Floor

So…We released our album, When The Ceiling Meets The Floor, a year ago this weekend. It is incredible to think that a year went by that fast, and at the same time it feels as though it were forever ago.  A lot has changed in our lives, some people have left us, and new have entered. We’ve played some of the best shows of our entire time as a band. We’ve shared the stage and became great friends with some amazing bands. All in all, we’ve been blessed with great fortune this year, and we want to thank everyone: family, friends, fans, and bands. We are happy to have shared this past year with you all.

So what is in store for the rest of 2010?

We are currently booking a 30 day summer tour for July and August. We’ll have a full list of dates announced shortly.

We are also gearing up to enter the studio this fall to begin work on our next album.  We’ve introduced some new material at our live shows and we can’t wait to record it.

The rest of 2010 is going to be pretty busy. We’ll keep you all posted.

Thanks again,

Tyler
